NEWYORK: In an unexpected twist at New York‘s LaGuardia Airport, security officers discovered an unconventional hiding spot for 17 bullets – inside a disposable baby diaper.

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) revealed that the otherwise clean diaper was flagged during an X-ray scan at a security checkpoint. The passenger, a man from Arkansas bound for Chicago’s Midway Airport, initially professed ignorance about the bullet-filled diaper, later suggesting his girlfriend might be responsible. While his name remains undisclosed, the Port Authority police cited him for unlawful possession of the 9mm ammunition.

LaGuardia Airport has seen a series of peculiar discoveries, including a .45-caliber pistol hidden in Nike sneakers, 13 bullets in a Mentos gum container, and a loaded .22-caliber pistol with over 100 bullets in a carry-on bag.

Despite firearms being allowed in checked luggage, specific regulations demand a locked, hard-sided container. Incidents like these highlight the need for travelers to be mindful of seemingly ordinary items that may hide unexpected surprises.
